What is the Usher Cup
The Usher Cup is a three-day event that includes the best male and female surfers 21 board rider from clubs from Nosa to Coffs Harbour. This event is to acknowledge the roots of club surfing in Australia and unite the riding clubs together. Usher Cup provides young surfers with the opportunity to compete after this long period of lockdown due to the COVID Crisis.
The competition will also allow surfers to compete against each other at club levels, offering individuals and clubs awards throughout the event. This year, Snapper Rocks and D-Bah were chosen as the perfect location for the event to take place, with the final location chosen based on weather conditions. The aim of the Usher Cup is to support and encourage creative talent and by promoting male/female equality.

Why Future Interior Linings is supporting the Usher Cup
At Future Interior Linings, we welcome the opportunity to be involved with a sport and a company to provide opportunities for young and upcoming people with talent. This particular event aligns with our brand story and purpose, are we are proud to be supporting them.
How the Usher Cup works
The 21 board rifer clubs will host qualifying events to determine who will make it to the main event. There will be 3 best males and 1 best female surfers chosen from each club to participate in the main event. The main event will run for 3 days with a total of 96 male competitors and 48 female competitors. There will be a total of 33 male and 27 female wildcard participants.
The competition format will be based on the highest individual score, expression sessions and, highest club scores. Individuals will be scored by the two highest-scoring waves judged the panel and this number will contribute to the highest score.
Up for grabs are individual expression prizes, highest-scoring prizes, and $3000 in prize money to the winning club. Individual prizes will include, the highest score, the best aerial, most creative, and the best spirit of the Usher Cup. The highest-scoring male and female will both receive a whopping $5000 in prize money, with the winning club holding the perpetual trophy for the entire year!
The event charities
Donations to the Usher Cup will go towards the Board riding Clubs, the athletes, the costs of running the event, and most importantly the following nominated Charities.
